G is for GRAHAM
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Troy and I spent all of our time off with family and had a relaxing and wonderful time! We are so blessed with such wonderful families that love us and love the Lord!
These are a few happies for sweet Graham, Rebecca's little one:) I have been determined to learn how to sew pants, shorts, tops, etc. My mother is an excellent seamstress!!! We grew up with beautiful french hand sewn clothes and matching smocked clothes (still not sure when she had time to do it all). She is SO patient with me...so...tonight in about an hour she helped me sew these pants. We used the easiest pattern found here.

A Christmas Break
Just an update to let you know I am no longer taking new orders for 2008. I will start back up after the new year so definitely check back in then! I plan to spend this time dreaming up wonderful ideas for a 'summer line' to be sold at a few home shows and on this blog.
I came across this cute Christmas wish for you. I pray God richly blesses your family this Christmas and draws you close to Him!
A little smile, a word of cheer, A bit of love from someone near, A little gift from one held dear, Best wishes for the coming year.
Merry Christmas! The Gardners

Big Girl Appliques
As Thanksgiving approaches I was thinking to myself yesterday of the people I am thankful for. One of those people is my dear sister-in-law Kim, Troy's sister. Kim was diagnosed with breast cancer a little over a year ago and pulled through like a star! I came across this breast cancer awareness angel and immediately thought of her. She will wear it well! We love you Kim!
This got me thinking of ways I could make myself a cute Christmas shirt (it's so hard to find anything 'holidayish' that isn't from granny's closet!). I think the Christmas tree turned out well:)

A few ideas...
Below are just a few things I have been working on. I have a few things that are almost done that I will post in the next few days.
Matching Sisters...this is just an idea of what you can do with one shirt and Target pants! One shirt and two or three outfits (I am working on another shirt to add that has a pink minky-dot present with lime green bow- pictures coming soon). The pants are all from Target and were $4.99! I have come across so many inexpensive pants with hot pink or red that would be so cute with a monogrammed shirt. If you were to order a shirt it would be the ruffle edge and would be $26 with a monogram.
This was done for a new friend on the coast. The top is hers - I just added the name. I can do this for a boy or girl (although font is more on the girly side). The letters are outlined with a fill stitch - not zig-zag. I am also working on a white shirt with a three letter monogram in the appliqued letters.

Troy's Triathlon
I have to give a shout out to my precious husband. He completed his first Sprint Triathlon this weekend! He decided about 3 weeks ago to do it and trained for a few weeks with our good friend John Mayfield. The sprint was a 1/3 mile swim, 16 mile bike and 3 mile run. He finished in 1:49:59. I am so proud of him!!! The picture is of Troy and John before the race (Troy is in the white shirt).

Canton Flea Market
Hey Y'all! I am so sorry for not updating the blog...I need one more day to recoup:) We had a fabulous time at the flea market and almost sold out! Everyone there was extremely nice and complementary. Thank you to all the sweet moms and grandmothers that stopped by!
A special thank you to Mom, Grace, Jessica and Anna who helped me! I could not have done it without you! Get ready for May!
I will post pictures of some options for custom outfits starting tomorrow. I will also be doing shirts with names or initials appliqued on them and will post an example for you to see.
On the blog you may purchase a shirt only. I know some ladies purchased an outfit and requested the option to order another shirt to coordinate with the pants they purchased to have two complete outfits. You will be able to do that through this blog.

New to the blogging world...
Well, I am joining you bloggers out there! The main purpose of this blog is to introduce you to a small side business I have started...Bluebird Hill Embroidery. I am currently doing mostly appliques but still do typical monogramming as well. I will be selling various things through this blog but will try and take custom orders as well.
I am testing the water October 9th at the famous Canton Flea Market! Check us out at booth #317 on the courthouse square next to the pavilion. I will be posting samples of what we will be selling!
