NEWT is in town!!!

Troy and I were treated by some great friend to First Priorities 10th Year Anniversary dinner tonight. First Priority is a wonderful ministry that is based in over 70 schools in 7 counties around Hattiesburg spreading the gospel through kids. We were excited to celebrate First Priority but we were VERY excited for the opportunity to hear their guest of honor, Former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich speak and can I say...HE WAS FABULOUS!!!

He was eloquent, non-politician-like, personal and extremely well educated!!! Everyone at our table agreed we could have listed to him for hours! We also agreed he sounds like he never sleeps b/c of the thoughts running through his head! Literally, he is brilliant yet so down to earth! His thoughts are simple, yet would make such a world of difference! I wish I could relay everything on this blog but my mind is still wrapping around it!

All I can say is that while I sit on a plane and in an airport next week, I will be reading my PERSONALLY SIGNED COPY of this...

Visit www.newt.org and become a fan!

OH....we were also able to stay afterwards and watch Mr. Gingrich do a live interview with GRETA on 'On the Record with Greta' - it ROCKED!!! There were about 20 of us standing around all the lights, etc. and he was so nice! He travels with two girls that are precious! I was dying to talk to them so afterward I walked up and politely asked what they did. One, who is about my age, said "I am his financial/legal research assistant" - I clarified and she agreed that she researches like crazy and fills Mr. Gingrich in on what on the up and up...can you image! I am sure she is equally as brilliant! The other is a personal assistant/event coordinator. He needs one! This afternoon he was on the Sean Hannity radio show, tonight he spoke and later tonight he was on Greta...all in a days work! Whew! AND...let me say...he told Greta like it was! It was awesome!

PS - Of course I left my camera in the car...I didn't want to be tacky now I regret it:)

oh, I am so jealous! I have always said that Newt would be one person I want to have dinner with...his knowledge of history is remarable!!!!

A high school friend of mine emailed me last night at 10:15 saying that Newt was in Hattiesburg...knowing that we lived there he was trying to get ahold of me....But we missed it!

I remember when Supreme Court Justice Anthony Scalia spoke at Wm Carey College while I worked there...OH ME OH MY! I took notes b/c I knew his intellect would go way over my head...wow, he was amazing!

So glad you had a great time..congrats on First Priority in celebrating 10 yrs!
